About The Position

Austin Community College is seeking an Automotive Adjunct Faculty member responsible for preparing and delivering automotive coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success and creating an environment that promotes belonging for all. The faculty member will meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Requirements

• AAS in automotive repair or higher.
• Minimum five years automotive repair experience within the last ten years.
• Current ASE Automobile Master certification (A1-A8).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach courses in the field of automotive technology to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of community college students and the standards of the discipline.
• Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
• Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a non-discriminatory manner.
• Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the department chair, dean, or other administrative personnel.
• Use Blackboard LMS and Cengage and/or Pearson publishing company instructional materials.
• Participate in graduation, general assembly, and other official college functions.
• Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve student retention and success.
