About The Position

The Work: ICF seeks a skilled Automation Test Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of a mission-critical Salesforce-based solution for the US Department of Transportation . The Test Engineer will develop and execute test plans, validate system functionality, and ensure compliance with federal security standards. Job Location: Remote, however, strong preference for candidates who live in the Washington DC Metro Area. Must support US Eastern time zone working hours. What You Will Do: Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate Salesforce-based system functionality, workflows, and integrations. Perform functional , integration, regression, and performance testing to ensure the solution meets stakeholder requirements and federal compliance standards. Quickly learn and w ork with agency-provided automated testing systems to test application functionality, API integrations, and availability monitoring. Validate data migration from legacy systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements, user stories, and system workflows to design effective test strategies. Identify , document, and track defects using tools like Jira, ensuring timely resolution and retesting. Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews) to provide quality assurance insights and align testing with sprint goals. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate training materials to ensure usability and adoption. Create and maintain QA documentation, including test results, defect reports, and quality metrics, for gate reviews and project deliverables. Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools to enhance efficiency and coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • 3+ years as a Quality Assurance & Test Enginee r developing , documenting, and executing application test plans and scripts for software development projects .
  • 1+ years working with automated testing systems .
  • 1+ years of e xperience delivering user training or creating technical documentation.
  • Candidate must have or be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance .
  • Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.
  • Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working on a large Salesforce implementation.
  • Experience testing Salesforce solutions for federal government clients, particularl y those leveraging Salesforce’s Public Sector Solutions .
  • Experience testing MuleSoft integrations.
  • Experience with automated testing tools for Salesforce environments.
  • An active Salesforce Administrator certification or familiarity with Salesforce platform architecture and application construct.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance testing and ATO processes.
  • Experience testing compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Prior experience delivering user training or creating technical documentation.
  • Highly effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to produce polished and well-organized written deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with team members and federal clients .
  • Organized, detailed oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task.
