The Automation Technician is a skilled-level role responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. In this role you will play a key role in minimizing downtime, supporting automation initiatives, and mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial automation.
  • Experience with robotic systems and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and basic computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding, machining, or fabrication experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic systems (FANUC, ABB) and automated equipment.
  • Support integration of automation technologies including sensors, actuators, and PLCs.
  • Perform diagnostics and calibration of robotic arms and vision systems.
  • Install and maintain electrical panels, motor controls, and power distribution systems.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform electrical safety checks and ensure compliance with NEC and OSHA standards.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Fabricate and install custom fixtures and tooling to support production.
  • Maintain building systems including HVAC, lighting, and compressed air.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from office and non-manufacturing areas.
