About The Position

Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Job PurposeThis position provides production troubleshooting support and project support.  The technician will drive improved uptime and quality through knowledge of Rockwell automation, Fanuc robotic cells, Cognex vision sensors and systems, Keyence and Datalogic bar code scanners and Keyence laser markers.  The technician sustains improvements by maintaining best practices of updating back ups, schematics and communication of changes or concerns across shifts.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of machine tending production processes.
  • PLC troubleshooting knowledge (Rockwell / Allen Bradley), Fanuc robot programming knowledge.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess initiative and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Continue professional growth and knowledge through ongoing training and education.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people.
  • Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems in dealing with complex machines and process problems.  Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Should have excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with stressful situations.
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit and displays a great attitude.
  • Be available to work overtime when needed to complete projects and support the assembly process.
  • Process – improvement oriented.
  • Associates Degree in Automation or related field or equivalent work experience of four to five years required.
  • Prior experience with the following software:  Rockwell Software RSLogix5000, Factory Talk View, Fanuc IR Vision and Cognex vision systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross functional team to resolve automation and control problems, or improve existing processes.
  • Technical support with cross functional teams including maintenance, operations and quality.  Some off hour support and weekend support is expected.
  • Special projects as needed
  • Controls programming and troubleshooting
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
