About The Position

We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Automation Technician to join our team as an onsite, hands-on owner for automation upkeep between the hours of 3pm - 11:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Automation Technician is responsible for keeping automated assembly machines and related equipment running safely and efficiently. This includes troubleshooting machine issues, performing repairs, completing preventive maintenance, and supporting production to reach quality and output goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or 2+ years experience in maintenance, automation, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, electrical systems, prox sensors, and mechanical repair.
  • Ability to use basic diagnostic tools (multimeter, gauges, etc.).
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • Computer and HMI navigation
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Communication and teamwork
  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with noise and moving machinery.
  • Able to work overtime or different shifts as needed.
  • Maintain good attendance
  • Work safely at all times
  • Respond quickly to machine downtime
  • Support continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLC controls or robotics is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated assembly machines, robotics, sensors, and electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Support machine changeovers, setups, and adjustments as needed for production.
  • Diagnose machine failures and help determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Read and follow machine schematics, drawings, and manuals.
  • Assist with new equipment installations and upgrades.
  • Work with production and quality to solve machine-related issues.
  • Document repairs, downtime, and parts used.
  • Follow and promote all safety procedures including LOTO.
