About The Position

An Automation Technician is responsible for the successful operation of the Dematic Goods-to-Person Automation System. They will perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and train associates on the operation of the Dematic system.

Requirements

  • Experience with warehouse automation Goods-To-Person.
  • Previous experience working on automation and conveyor systems.
  • Experience with PLC’s, optical devices, and electrical systems.
  • Mechanical experience with gearboxes, sprockets, chains, guide rollers, conveyor belts, and related equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong computer skills as it relates to maintaining records, repair logs, and schedules.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts as required and to respond to emergencies quickly.
  • Safety First Knowledge (lock-out, tag -out), OSHA Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Goods-to-Person automation experience preferred.
  • Operational knowledge of automation processes.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to understand with training the Eclipse and Dematic warehouse operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate equipment and perform scheduled preventative maintenance to keep the Dematic system fully operational, especially during peak periods of the day.
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel the status and requirements needed to maintain the Dematic system.
  • Train associates how to operate the Dematic system, how to make minor repairs, and when assistance is required.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
