This position is responsible for modifying, repairing, maintaining and providing support of the machinery and/or equipment in the facility, including mechanical, electrical, and PLC, HMI, Servo, and other related machinery programming. The role ensures all safety and sanitation guidelines and GMP’s are followed to maintain product safety and quality. Requirements

  • 5 years’ minimum experience in similar position.
  • Experience with high volume, fully or semi-automatic production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of vendors or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Knowledge of PLC software (preferably Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Yaskawa).
  • Able to connect laptop computer to PLC’s and other peripheral devices.
  • Basic knowledge and experience programming PLC’s, Variable Frequency drives, Servo Drive, HMI’s.
  • Ability to access and troubleshoot equipment using a laptop computer with PLC program.
  • Knowledge of IIOT, network cabling, equipment networking.
  • Ability to make simple circuit diagrams for the intent of adding devices to equipment to optimize performance.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with camera related inspection systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ACAD (or equal) and Microsoft Suite programs.
  • Ability to apply common sense to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to resolve and deal with simple problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations within the production processing operation.

  • A BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering is desired

Responsibilities

  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair of all production machinery/equipment.
  • Maintaining equipment schematics for equipment up-to-date when modifications are performed.
  • Responsible to assist in implementation of automated industrial assembly machines and production lines utilizing robotics, linear motion components, conveyors.
  • Keep library of PLC and other devices of back up programs, including an organized library of modified items and updates.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Provide support and assistance to other mechanic/electricians as needed.
  • Work with contractors and vendors on special projects in production or other departments.
  • Look for and provide solutions for issues of legacy equipment to improve efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by department supervisors.
  • Responsible for completing work reports at the completion of each assignment.
  • Place work orders for repairs and modifications to equipment and maintain documentation.
  • Provide specific training to regular full time and temporary personnel with regards to the mechanical/electrical operations of the processing and packaging machinery/equipment to company specifications.
  • Ensure machinery/equipment safety, including covers/guards and proper operation of all safety devices.
  • Cleaning details and tasks/assignments as assigned by the supervisor(s).
  • May be required to attend department meetings, safety/sanitation meetings, production meetings and quality control meetings as necessary.
