About The Position

The position focuses on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.) on all automated manufacturing equipment to meet annual goals. Responsibilities include ensuring cost reduction through effective preventive maintenance systems and providing technical training to lower-level automation technicians. The role involves PLC programming, troubleshooting automation production equipment, monitoring equipment performance, and performing equipment changeovers as dictated by the production schedule. Additionally, the position requires developing and performing preventative maintenance inspections, providing training and support to automation technicians, logging equipment usage and maintenance, and ensuring a safe working environment through 5S housekeeping practices. The candidate will work closely with the technical operations team and must be flexible to support different shifts as needed.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in automation technology and 5 years of experience.
• 10 years of experience in a production environment, particularly as it relates to molding automation technology can substitute an Associate degree in automation technology.
• Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, as well as the ability to perform risk assessments and collaborate with developers and quality assurance teams.
• Strong ability to change and test PLC programming code.
• Superb mechanical aptitude and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve O.E.E. on all automated manufacturing equipment to achieve annual OEE goals.
• Ensure cost reduction goals are being met utilizing effective preventive maintenance systems and technical training on lower-level automation technicians.
• PLC Programming.
• Troubleshoot automation production equipment via functional understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems and equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and fine-tune to production standards as necessary to achieve OEE Goals.
• Perform equipment changeovers dictated by scheduled production.
• Develop and perform preventative maintenance inspections and routines on all automated production equipment.
• Provide training and support to all Level automation technicians in large scale repairs.
• Log equipment usage, work performed, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality.
• Perform tasks alongside technical operations team members.
• Complete all job functions in a safe manner.
• Interact and participate in a close-knit team.
• Flexible schedule to provide support in other shifts as requested.
• Changeover equipment between the different Automation configurations.
• Consistently maintain a positive attitude, volunteer for additional assignments and assist another team member as needed.
• Review daily production schedule and prepare all necessary supplies to minimize downtime at changeover.
• Ensure that 5S housekeeping in all work areas for a safe working environment, especially in the automation Lab and spare part inventory.
• Communicate closely with Supervisor and address in a respectful manner all team members.
• Work with or without supervision to ensure machines, equipment, and priorities are meeting safety, quality, and production goals.
• Availability to work different shifts including weekdays and weekends as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
