About The Position

We are a full-service mechanical contractor providing customers in the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors with innovative, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning services, automation and controls, industrial piping, new construction design and installation, and maintenance and replacement services.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, installation, and construction procedures
  • Programming and troubleshooting skills with Honeywell, Tridium, JCI FX, Carrier, and Trane control systems
  • Command of the technical language involved with automation and mechanical systems
  • Understanding of local codes
  • Even temperament and good judgement
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Understands and executes “completion”
  • 1 year of technical school and 1+ years of DDC/BAS control system start-up, check-out, and service or 2+ years of DDC/BAS control system start-up, check-out, and service
  • Configuration/programming and troubleshooting skills with Tridium, Honeywell, JCI FX, JCI PCT, Carrier, and Trane software
  • All candidates for this position should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 50 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, our warehouse, etc.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel when needed
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working from scissor lifts at heights.
  • Familiar with the safe operation of required tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration, calibration, and check-out of control system and ensure specified sequence of operations is met
  • Ensure that all field installed devices are addressed, communicating, and operating properly
  • Conduct point to point check-out on controllers
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for processing in a timely manner, including controller verification forms, work orders, and change order forms
  • Accurate and timely reporting of job conditions
  • Provide as-built drawings and assist in the close out process of total project while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Assist in owner training and commissioning efforts to turn over a complete system
  • Communicate to team members including creation of daily log daily
  • Assist other departments and trades when necessary (install controls, small duct modifications, graphics, etc.)
  • Maintain assigned company vehicle
  • Maintain all company supplied tools and resources
  • Fosters relationships with customers and team members Maintain excellent communication between the automation department and its customers.
