The Automation Specialist, Associate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Building Automation Systems (BAS) equipment and sensors for HVAC, Water Quality, and Lighting Systems.

  • Installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) equipment and sensors for HVAC, Water Quality and Lighting Systems
  • Perform commissioning and programming of installed BAS equipment
  • Diagnose and repair/replace BAS equipment failures and malfunctions
  • Modify BAS programming to maintain proper operation of systems, including remote access after-hours response to maintenance/scheduling issues associated with BAS equipment
  • Assist in maintenance of Fire Control Systems as needed at Busch Gardens Tampa & Adventure Island
  • Follow safe work practices
  • Other duties as required by the Park Services Department
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of technical experience (ex electronics, video, audio, IT, etc) preferred
  • Must currently have valid Driver's license and the ability to meet company driving guidelines
  • Must be able to work to flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, special events coverage as required, weekends and overtime when job requires
  • One year of Building Controls installation or maintenance experience preferred
  • Demonstrable knowledge of electronic based controls and programming ability
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment, operation and low line voltage equipment is preferred
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills, both electrical and mechanical
  • Position will require standing and walking for extended periods of time; must be able to lift, push, carry and pull 50 pounds; ability to climb/ascend heights if needed; perform tasks that require frequent bending from waist to floor, kneeling, squatting, simple hand grasping work, overhead work and fine manipulation
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying Florida weather, to include extreme heat. Position will be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment, operation and low line voltage equipment is preferred
  • One year of Building Controls installation or maintenance experience preferred
