As an Automation Specialist at Pfizer, you will play a critical role in managing manufacturing information systems to enhance manufacturing success rates and ensure zero downtime. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the engineering team to bring medicines to the world faster, while your innovative communication skills will help in resolving complex issues and fostering collaboration among teams.

  • Contribute to the completion of projects and manage own time on agreed targets.
  • Develop plans for own projects and lead small project teams.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Generate and develop standard operating procedures and job aids to support systems and equipment.
  • Analyze operational process problems and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
  • Manage change control authoring, actions, and execution.
  • Modify control logic and install electrical and control systems to enhance performance and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate activities with production personnel to minimize downtime.
  • Use electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot issues safely.
  • Read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with 2+ years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with 0+ years of experience.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems such as DCS, PLCs, SCADAs, computerized systems, Historians, and/or SQL Server.
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues to root cause and recommending effective corrective actions.
  • Strong teamwork spirit, good communication skills, and training abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience.
  • Understanding of programming and proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Understanding of network infrastructure, Windows servers, and virtualization.
  • Experience with writing software test plans, user requirements, and system design documents.
