About The Position

C.H Robinson is seeking an Automation Solutions Developer on their Global Forwarding Automation team. This role is responsible for supporting internal teams in the development of automated processes to improve productivity and operational efficiency. The Automation Solutions Developer will evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, has a strong interest in exploring and learning new skills and concepts, and is comfortable working in ambiguous situations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform experience with end-to-end expertise across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, and Dataverse
  • 3+years of experience with design, build, deploy, and supporting scalable low-code solutions, integrating with Microsoft 365 and Azure services while following best practices for security, governance, and ALM
  • Experience with translating business requirements into efficient, reliable solutions that drive automation, insights, and digital transformation
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in developing in one or more of the following technologies would be beneficial: Python, .Net, JavaScript, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism, SQL
  • Advanced technical degree / certification
  • Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation
  • Experience in developing scripts or automation solutions
  • Exposure or experience in a Agile/Scrum framework
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Certification in Microsoft Power Platform or other automation tools
  • Experience with or knowledge of Artificial Intelligence
  • Ability to learn new technical languages and tools and understand where and when to apply them
  • Ability to grasp business processes and construct solutions to assist operations personnel through reducing or eliminating manual interactions with the process
  • Ability to deconstruct processes into component parts and replicate them into a digital form
  • Strong problem solving / process improvement capability
  • Capable of grasping business and technical issues and come up with smart, logical solutions
  • Willingness to offer alternative solutions to a problem and stretch capabilities in order to solve the core problem
  • Highly analytical with the ability to synthesize business situations down to their quantitative essence

  • Strong listener with the ability to read between the lines and confidence to ask clarifying questions

Responsibilities

  • Works on ongoing automation projects to develop and implement new solutions
  • Considers and provides inputs to the automation lab on how much investment (time, resources) are required to develop a solution to the core process in question
  • Completes project plans to meet customer deadlines
  • Works collaboratively with other developers in an ever-changing landscape of methods and tools to address each project efficiently and effectively
  • Addresses barriers/roadblocks quickly and utilizes critical thinking to develop solutions and workarounds
  • Comprehends technical requirements and documentation of core operational processes and build digital solutions to address manual touch points
  • Translates customer needs, documented requirements, and process maps into well-designed automation solutions
  • Ensures solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Uses structured problem solving to address the root cause of inefficiency and friction points within our operational processes
  • Builds solutions to address core problem with network scalability in mind
  • Accountable for the stability of the solutions built within the automation lab and assist in the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of established automation solutions
  • Analyzes and tests current processes and systems to determine effectiveness and efficiency
  • Deconstructs existing solutions and incorporate them into established and approved tools and libraries of automations
  • Crafts clear documentation on how to setup and execute the solutions built
  • Establishes monitoring of automation solutions to identify errors as well as track ROI of each solution
