About The Position

Coordinates activities with all stakeholders and ensures a holistic and systemic approach is taken to proactively mitigate equipment downtime and increase productivity. Engages others to work upstream and/or downstream of automated work cell to balance the flow of materials and information as it applies to production scheduling and changeover sequencing. Inspects and measures components to verify compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. Works collaboratively with individuals and teams to prepare for and engage in process and machine innovation. Develops and deploys the appropriate tools to improve the understanding and application of lean methodologies to achieve operational and strategic objectives. Fosters teamwork, collaboration, and learning by assisting in the development of implementation action plans, process documentation, conflict resolution, and after-action follow up. Possesses the desire and ability to pursue continued educational opportunities for certification and actively pursues new knowledge in modern technology and best practices to support process and machine improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively via verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer navigation skills and experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MAX MRP software or an ERP software, and Maintenance Connection.
  • Expressly detail oriented.
  • Must be able to perform duties from recall, written instructions, and visual aids.
  • Ability to have uninterrupted engagement with duties for periods up to 4 hours.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
  • 2 years of related production, maintenance, engineering, or automation experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing setup, operation, tests, adjustments, and preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.
  • Assists in performing troubleshooting, problem solving, root cause analysis, and repair activities as it applies to equipment failures.
  • After training, can proactively manage tool wear.
  • After training, can prepare and test all equipment for safety and productivity prior to production run.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Participates in training and/or coaching others on technical skills, tools, techniques, and problem solving.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of applicable part numbers, materials, and processes.
  • Understanding and participation in execution of the change management process.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and work orders.
  • After training, can perform in process inspections and dimensional inspections of key characteristics and other attributes utilizing inspection devices (such as micrometer, caliper, optical measurement equipment, etc.) e.g. Certified Manufacturing Inspector (CMI), as per AS9162 type duties.
  • Ability to complete work order posting requirements, loading and printing labels, issuing material, and verify count operations.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation.
  • General knowledge and understanding of Lean work practices.
  • General knowledge and understanding of vision software and concepts.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of various sensor types and functions.
  • Applies knowledge of general safety and organization (6S), Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) requirements.
  • Knowledge of Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS).
  • Assists in SPC, reaction plans, and execution of control plans.
  • Awareness and understanding of MRB, Scrap, and NCR Processes.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.
