About The Position

Omnicell is seeking a PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (On Call) to support our XR2 automation system at a customer hospital site in Morristown, NJ. This on‑call role provides coverage for call‑ins, PTO, LOAs, and peak operational needs while supporting safe, efficient medication automation that enables pharmacy teams to focus on patient care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration
  • Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB / CPhT / EXCPT)
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfort working with mechanical equipment and computer systems
  • Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel for training
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • 2+ years of hospital pharmacy automation experience
  • Experience supporting automation troubleshooting and IV workflows

Responsibilities

  • Operate and support Omnicell XR2 automation in accordance with SOPs and best practices
  • Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy
  • Perform routine equipment inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
  • Monitor system performance and escalate unresolved issues to TAC or the appropriate helpdesk
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with Pharmacy Services policies
  • Communicate proactively with pharmacy leadership and customers to resolve issues
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for Omnicell team members as needed
  • Participate in training and maintain all required certifications and credentials
