About The Position

The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV) at Omnicell is responsible for maintaining unit-dose medications for daily dispensing from automated IV equipment. This role involves preparing and troubleshooting the Omnicell IV equipment, managing medication inventory, and ensuring high levels of customer service by addressing concerns and maintaining communication with the Pharmacy Services Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active License/Registration with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Active Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT); PTCB or ExCPT tests accepted.
  • Working knowledge of IV compounding.
  • Good organizational skills; accurate, reliable, and efficient.
  • Demonstrated customer-facing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with mechanical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and PC Windows.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with automation devices.
  • SME for Pharmacy Services department.
  • One year of IV compounding experience.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications.
  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.
  • Working knowledge of sterile environment requirements.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error-free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.
  • Perform IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.
  • Identify and order medications to ensure medication inventories are at optimal levels.
  • Monitor and order consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of IV automation equipment; report unresolved equipment issues to the IV HD.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with the Pharmacy Services Manager and customers to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support, emphasizing quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.
  • Act as a liaison between OMCL and the customer to assist with customer concerns.
  • Comply with IV compounding procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the customer facility.
  • Complete negative fingertip and media fill sampling.
  • Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.
