Job Summary This role provides critical oversight for Comcast Business’ automated device configuration compliance program. The engineer ensures that all automated configuration checks are accurate, aligned to approved configuration standards, and executed reliably across the environment. They validate that results from these automated checks are correctly sent to centralized dashboards, that alerting is functioning end‑to-end, and that remediation teams receive timely and actionable notifications for any non‑compliant configurations. This engineer acts as the governance layer for automation quality, ensuring the program delivers trustworthy results, remains aligned to evolving configuration guidelines, and empowers operational teams with the visibility needed to maintain a secure and compliant device posture at scale. Job Description This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship. Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience including strong Python scripting/development skills with experience parsing and transforming structured data (JSON, XML, CSV) and automating configuration/compliance checks.
  • Background in a development, DevOps, or system administration environment with hands‑on experience building, deploying, patching, and validating systems in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, ACLs, firewalls) and cybersecurity fundamentals including secure configuration, segmentation, vulnerability management, and compliance monitoring.
  • Experience implementing or supporting configuration compliance programs, policy as code, infrastructure as code, and automation platforms such as Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets using SQL or similar tools and build dashboards, reports, and alerts using Splunk, Grafana, Tableau, Kibana, or equivalent visualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, cloud platform security concepts (AWS/Azure/GCP), and emerging agentic AI workflows such as prompt engineering, MCP, A2A patterns, or AI-driven orchestration.
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, collaboration, and analytical skills with the ability to operate independently, manage tasks with a PM mindset, and build rapport in challenging stakeholder environments.

  • Security background in audit or compliance, or experience in an operational role involving building, deploying, patching, and maintaining systems with proper health monitoring (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Build and support a scalable system to manage and validate configuration compliance across a large distributed device inventory (over 750,000 devices).
  • Ensure device builds meet established standards prior to deployment, including validation of configuration, security posture, firmware versioning, and post‑production management requirements.
  • Develop and refine automation to verify build standards, detect configuration drift, validate required controls, and surface issues before devices reach production.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to establish a governance model for automated checks, compliance workflows, and ongoing device health monitoring.
  • Perform compliance evaluations of device builds, including secure configuration checks, vulnerability review, and confirmation of required security controls.
  • Parse, analyze, and validate large datasets from device telemetry, configuration outputs, and automated check results to identify trends, exceptions, or systemic issues.
  • Design, maintain, and enhance analytics workflows for correlating compliance findings, enriching device metadata, aggregating results, and producing decision-ready insights.
  • Build dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms for operational teams and leadership to track compliance posture, device health, exceptions, and remediation actions.
  • Collaborate closely with business partners—even in challenging environments—to build rapport, drive alignment, and ensure successful implementation of compliance standards.
  • Document processes, configuration standards, validation logic, and governance workflows with high attention to detail.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance automation, policy-as-code standards, configuration baselines, and infrastructure-as-code validation practices.
  • Support integration of compliance tools with APIs, orchestration platforms, telemetry systems, and dashboards.
  • Troubleshoot device build issues, data inconsistencies, automation failures, and system-level problems within Unix/Linux environments.
  • Apply a PM-oriented mindset to track tasks, follow up on action items, communicate status, and ensure accountability across teams.
  • Explore and leverage emerging agentic AI patterns (e.g., MCP, A2A, intelligent automation flows) to enhance compliance automation and workflow intelligence.
