About the position
The Automation Manager will oversee the Automation Department at Volk Enterprises, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of automation machinery. This role involves generating programming changes for PLCs, troubleshooting equipment, and coordinating with the production team to meet production goals. The position requires a blend of technical and mechanical skills, focusing on maintaining high standards of quality and precision in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Oversee automation department
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation machines
- Coordinate with production team to meet goals
- Requisition raw materials
- Make adjustments to machine programs
- Assist in building maintenance and maintenance in other departments
- Keep records and conduct internal audits for BRC standard.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate plus 2 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment
- Knowledge of variable frequency drives
- Fluently read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Skilled in the use of programmable logic controllers (mostly Allen Bradley)
- Knowledge of motor control and automated control circuits
- Skilled in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook
- Knowledge of HMI, SCADA and computer network communication systems
- Knowledge of plant maintenance
