We offer a clean manufacturing environment where safety is always job one. Due to continued expansion, Suncast Corporation is hiring experienced Automation Maintenance Technicians. This position is a long-term growth opportunity for an ambitious, career-minded Equipment Maintenance Technician interested in a career with a major manufacturer of consumer products. The Automation Technician is responsible for planning repair methods, installing equipment, performing preventive maintenance on equipment, repairing equipment as required in order to support the production department. This employee is able to diagnose problems and accurately estimate the amount of time and the equipment required to perform a repair.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus technical courses preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Some manufacturing, mechanical and/or automation maintenance experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair production equipment.
  • Plan maintenance and repair procedures. This will include power, electric, and electronic control.
  • Diagnose problems.
  • Determine what repairs are required and what equipment, supplies, and skills are needed to complete the repairs.
  • Estimate labor required for assigned repairs.
  • Requisition or make components for assigned repairs.
  • Operate machine tools as required to install and repair equipment.
  • Assist with the development of a preventive maintenance (PM) program.
  • Suggest PM schedules for equipment and assist with implementing the plan.
  • Document all work in a neat and legible manner.
  • Ensure that all documents are kept in accordance with department procedures.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills with other maintenance technicians and with production supervisors.
  • Stay informed of new technology, methods, and materials within the field.
