About The Position

The Automation Maintenance Technician's role is responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of robotic fixtures and equipment to ensure that the equipment is to code and functioning to optimal levels of quality and safety. Oversees robotic equipment maintenance, repairs, and reports for, new models, enhancements and expansions. Maintains accuracy of all spare parts inventory, accounts for all usage, maintains all work order maintenance and repair documentation. Troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and test equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability. maintains and updates all process documentation. Must demonstrate the knowledge and ability to employ safe work practices. The Automation Maintenance Technician and all S&S Activewear employees must adhere to the guidelines presented in the S&S Activewear employee handbook.

Requirements

  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field:
  • 3 years of experience in automation / PLC controls, robotic, mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Must be a highly flexible individual that can adjust to changes quickly.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and holidays as needed to maintain maximum uptime on all robotic equipment and systems.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure department compliance of all safety requirements and proper use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • 2 + Experience carrying out scheduled robotic and facilities equipment inspections to identify and resolve issues.
  • 3 + years of experience conducting preventative maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining and modifying electrical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting and repairing automated robotics systems.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting pneumatic systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and replacing associated robotic components.
  • Experience interpreting technical schematics: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.
  • 3 + years of experience in utilizing various diagnostic software and tools.
  • 3 + years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls.
  • 3 + years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industrial electronics
  • 3 + years of experience reading blueprints and schematics.
  • 3 + years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs
  • 3 + years of work order management (CMMS)

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all automated equipment as scheduled and directed.
  • Carry out scheduled robotic and facilities equipment inspections to identify and resolve issues.
  • Evaluate/ diagnose and perform repairs on automation equipment not functioning properly.
  • Accurately document and communicate all preventative maintenance and repair activities daily.
  • Responsible for all spare parts inventory usage and accuracy, provide weekly summary.
  • Adjust work schedule as needed to accommodate business needs, to perform certain tasks outside of normal operations functions.
  • Actively coordinate and communicate with operations team to maximize equipment availability to ensure minimal disruptions.
  • Responsible for the security of all company tools and diagnostic devices used in this department.
  • Assist in the training and development of the assistant automation technicians.
