About The Position

The Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial automation systems. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge and experience in the fields of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics. The Automation Technician must have a solid understanding of industrial processes and be able to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics. They must have a strong knowledge of the principles of lean manufacturing, PLCs, and motion control systems. The successful candidate must possess excellent problem solving and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Two year Associate Degree in Controls Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or Electrical Maintenance Technology and have a minimum of five (5) years of Controls Automation or Industrial Maintenance experience
  • Or - Have 7 years combination of Controls Automation and Industrial Maintenance education and experience.
  • Be a collaborative leader. strong team player, and solid interpersonal skills,
  • Be a self-starter, able to work effectively with minimal supervision, with good organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Model and demonstrate Reckitt's values and encourage others to do the same
  • Follow all safe working policies and practices.
  • Follow company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety policies to safeguard against costly write-offs and/or recalls
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial automated systems and devices such as PLCs, HMIs, Sensors, X-Rays, Checkweighers, Vision Systems, and Motion Control
  • Install and test industrial controls, including computerized systems that monitor and regulate operations or machinery
  • Perform routine inspection of machinery and equipment for defects or malfunctions
  • Execute periodic calibrations and equipment verifications to ensure equipment is running as expected
  • Develop new automation technologies for manufacturing processes and/or improve existing processes
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to plan and implement equipment modifications and/or process upgrades
  • Document all work performed through work orders in SAP
  • Work with vendors and contractors as needed
  • Help coordinate planned maintenance activities to reduce unplanned failures that are costly to production
  • Help develop maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Create standard work that explains how to run equipment correctly
