About The Position

The Automation Engineering Technician at Lifecore Biomedical is responsible for supporting automated systems throughout the facilities by troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing automation improvements. This full-time position offers a unique weekend shift schedule, allowing employees to work 36 hours while being paid for 40. The role emphasizes development and growth, providing opportunities for promotion and skill enhancement.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Electrical Controls/Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in the medical device or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and engineering skills.
• Ability to fabricate automation control panels for manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding automation electrical wiring schematics.
• Familiarity with documents, SOPs, preventative maintenance procedures, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project, as well as Rockwell Software - Logix500, Logix5000, Studio5000, FactoryTalk View.

Responsibilities

• Perform production floor support and troubleshooting for automated systems.
• Escalate issues to Engineering and Management when necessary.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors for procurement, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Develop and update equipment documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and equipment drawings.
• Implement automation changes to enhance existing manufacturing processes.
• Investigate and resolve problems affecting manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Support the execution of experiments to identify solutions for new manufacturing processes.
• Assist in the installation and validation of new manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Collect and analyze process data to facilitate improvements in manufacturing.
