About The Position

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a(n) Automation Engineering Manager, to join our Biosense Webster team in San Angelo, TX. This position ensures the development and execution of quality work enabling effective and compliant medical device production/sustaining. In collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Commercial and Supply Chain organizations, this role ensures the success of Biosense network strategies and reliable supply of high-quality product. This leader works collaboratively with Johnson & Johnson leaders to implement Engineering programs and new technologies to improve Supply Reliability, overall quality and regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, advance innovation, enhance organizational capabilities and diversity.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s Engineering degree is required
  • 8+ years of business experience, preferable in technical roles with increased responsibilities across manufacturing, R&D, new product development and any level of automation
  • Experience with talent hiring and development
  • Must demonstrate working knowledge of process development and validation, including design of experiments, statistical analysis, and project management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in bridging technical and business fields, evaluating, and resolving appropriate risks
  • Consistent track record in early-stage design and process engineering
  • Quality and Compliance mentality
  • Excellent Communication Skills, both in Spanish and English language
  • Problem-solving – finds innovative ways to apply engineering principles and drives efficiencies
  • Experience leading projects and demonstrated project leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of electromechanical or mechatronics systems to enable automation
  • Lead confidence levels and risks assessments with multiple level of complexity on electromechanical/mechatronics systems to rationalize cost of development and implementation with the corresponding cost avoidance, cost savings or product risk mitigation driving it
  • Develop and implement design, prototyping and process scale up strategies and processes for commercial use, leading all aspects of CAD modeling, materials selection, and mechanical validation
  • Drive risk management, design controls and testing plans
  • Facilitate interaction, improve processes, prioritizes, and transfer knowledge, as needed, between Product Development, Operations/Manufacturing, Internal Manufacturers, and component/raw material suppliers, if needed
  • Steers Collaboration with internal and external partners to drive execution
  • Reviews and coordinates activities concerned with technical developments and resolves engineering problems
  • Leads resources effectively and help prioritize and optimize resource utilization
  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety per J&J standards
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
