Vishay Yankton, SD is currently seeking applicants for Automation Engineering Internships responsible for development and design of automated machines, electro-mechanical systems, specialized fixtures, and experimental tooling.

  • Use SolidWorks to design or assist in design of automated machines, electro-mechanical systems, specialized fixtures, experimental tooling, etc.
  • Interface with Product & Process Engineering, Manufacturing Supervisors & Operators, Machinists, Equipment Maintenance Personnel, etc. to discuss requirements.
  • Support engineering activities such as assessment of requirements, develop design concepts, assist in fabrication, assemble prototype devices, troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, and debug machines/tooling.
  • Transfer developed equipment and tooling to manufacturing lines in Yankton and our other manufacturing facilities across the world.
  • Equipment includes robots, lasers, vision systems, winders, ultrasonic welders, CNC mills, wire EDM, injection molding presses, temperature chambers, and various electronics testing equipment.
  • SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Mechanical Engineering Student, sophomore or higher preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of typical types of fabrication, i.e., mill, lathe, welding
