About the position
The Automation Engineering Intern position at Voith U.S. Inc. offers Electrical Engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the Automation Group. This role is designed for individuals interested in the paper industry, providing a flexible work schedule that accommodates full-time hours during school breaks and part-time hours while attending classes. Interns will engage in various engineering tasks, including using CAD software and developing machine control software.
Responsibilities
- Use CAD software to generate schematics and layout drawings.
- Generate Bills of Materials for machine assemblies.
- Perform technical calculations.
- Work with suppliers to specify components.
- Develop software for machine control.
- Read specifications regarding requirements of machinery.
- Follow instructions as provided by other Engineers, Designers, and Managers.
- Communicate work status with Engineering and Project Management staff.
- Interact with business systems as required.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Willingness to learn.
- Enrolled in an ABET accredited university pursuing an Electrical Engineering or similar degree.
Nice-to-haves
- Industrial experience is a plus.
- Experience with Rockwell components and software is a plus.
