The Opportunity: You will be a member of the Frontline Automation Engineering Team which plays a key role in the support of our site's make, assess, and release process. The individual selected into this role will provide frontline support and work collaboratively with maintenance, engineering, utilities, reliability teams, and end users to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and processes. The individual selected for this role needs to have a continuous improvement mindset. Finally, the individual who is chosen for this role will have a strong capacity as a hands-on troubleshooter in a GMP environment. This role will require working one day of the weekend (Sat or Sun) to align with manufacturing operations. Works in lock step with other support organizations and end users to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues on the shop floor. Develops, deploys and tests automation solutions in support of Drug Product (DP) operations to reduce equipment downtime, improve compliance, and enhance reliability. Actively participates at the daily process team huddles. Provides automation upskilling and knowledge transfer to other support organizations and end users. Leads deviation investigations related to Process Automation. Owns and manages changes following GMP change control processes. Ensure systems maintain their validated states. Maintains system lifecycle documentation. Participate in self development opportunities.

  • Provide frontline support and work collaboratively with maintenance, engineering, utilities, reliability teams, and end users to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
  • Develop, deploy and test automation solutions in support of Drug Product (DP) operations to reduce equipment downtime, improve compliance, and enhance reliability.
  • Actively participate at the daily process team huddles.
  • Provide automation upskilling and knowledge transfer to other support organizations and end users.
  • Lead deviation investigations related to Process Automation.
  • Own and manage changes following GMP change control processes.
  • Ensure systems maintain their validated states.
  • Maintain system lifecycle documentation.
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Knowledge of robotics and other integrated motion control systems.
  • Basic understanding of P&ID and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to participate as a member of the 24/7 Automation On Call Rotation.
  • Desire to continuously improve oneself.
  • Strong initiative and integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to apply automation solutions and troubleshooting to solve complex problems on highly automated equipment.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices or Food and Beverage.
  • Familiarity or experience with PLCs and/or HMIs.
  • Familiarity or experience with vision inspection systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross functional team environments.
  • AI and Machine Learning Skills.
