Amarillo Gear Company LLC is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team, where we believe that people make the difference. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, simulating, and testing automated machinery and processes. You will identify opportunities for automation within software processes and develop and implement software that controls and monitors mechanical systems. Additionally, troubleshooting equipment and process issues related to automation will be a key part of your responsibilities. To be successful in this position, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, along with 3 to 5 years of experience with a focus on automation. Prior work experience in operations project management, automation project management, or similar areas, including internships or co-op assignments, is desirable. You should be comfortable in ambiguous situations where requirements may be unclear and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Knowledge of LEAN principles is also essential. The role requires 20-30% travel, both domestic and international, and strong communication and organizational skills are a must. Experience with automation projects involving metal machining, along with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, will be critical to your success.
