About The Position

Jing-Jin Electric (JJE) is a world leader of motor systems and electric drive assembly for new energy vehicles (NEV), covering pure electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrids, and hybrids. We are looking for a manufacturing Automation Engineer to join our team! Job Summary: The Manufacturing Automation Engineer creates and implements complex manufacturing processes, assists in the identification of equipment and facility improvements and takes leadership in process improvement and lean projects. This position interfaces with both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Auto CAD and robot programming
  • Ability to read and interpret product and assembly process prints
  • GD&T knowledge, PPAP knowledge and statistical process control (SPC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be very knowledgeable in Process and Manufacturing methods
  • Must be able to complete PFMEA, control plans, job instructions, tool routings, standard work, recommended spare parts, and preventative maintenance.
  • Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA): Knowledge of techniques and processes of robotic process automation (RPA); ability to develop and deploy RPA solutions in various industries.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
  • Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Automation Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent relevant technical experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, automation or mechanical engineering
  • Previous automation experience in assembly processes
  • Previous robotics experience - KUKA

Responsibilities

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepared reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends of machine run time and downtimes
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with company, customer and government regulations and specifications
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service
  • Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, programming, installation or other activities as necessary to enable safe quality manufacturing activities
  • Interface closely with manufacturing to ensure that tools are available for production and utilities are delivered to process equipment in a stable and continuous manner
  • Establish, implement and report metrics of preventative maintenance (PM) activities on facility and production equipment
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with operation and process engineering teams. Ensure inventory of critical spare parts are on hand to minimize production disruptions. Maintain documentation of equipment installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting activities
  • Oversee equipment related projects including the coordination and scheduling of equipment assembly and equipment upgrades with engineering and operations including operational testing of new or modified equipment before handing off to production or engineering for production qualification
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications’ establishing personal network; participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Complies with all safety regulations outlined by the company, customer and governmental regulations
  • Communicates and interacts with all departments to achieve company goals and initiatives
  • Writes and maintains work instructions for operators
  • Works closely with operations to improve work instructions and procedures to optimize operations
  • Other duties as assigned
