About The Position

This Automation Engineer role supports the automated final assembly process in our Milwaukee, WI facility. You will be part of a team focused on improving, supporting, and maintaining the fully automated production line meant as a showcase of both Rockwell hardware and software. This is a high visibility role in a data rich environment that requires cross-functional collaboration with teams throughout the company and interaction with customers to showcase Rockwell's capabilities. You will work onsite from Milwaukee, WI and report to the Team Lead, Automation Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of manufacturing / industrial engineering experience
  • 3+ years of Automation or Controls Engineering experience
  • AB PLCs, AB Motion Control, AB Independent Cart, FANUC (LR, SR)
  • Rockwell Software Experience
  • Studio 5000, View Designer, FT View
  • Mechanical Engineering or Machine Design experience
  • Proficient in Data Analysis: Microsoft Excel, Powe BI
  • Customer service or technical support involvement
  • SAP business system knowledge
  • LEAN Six-Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
  • Previous experience in a highly automated environment

Responsibilities

  • Leverage automation and controls experience to optimize the machines on a highly automated line
  • Maintain and update mechanical/assembly drawings for in-line fixturing
  • Demonstrate an awareness of state-of-the-art and lean manufacturing concepts and practices
  • Demonstrate an ability to coordinate activities through all levels of the organization to achieve objectives
  • Utilize data analysis, computational skills, and appropriate software to maximize productivity
  • Possess a high level of production process knowledge
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems including (but not limited to): issue with mechanical assembly machinery and fixtures, electrical issues, and controls/software related issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in assembly machinery and fixtures
  • Obtain, organize, and analyze data and to prepare charts and reports
  • Lead the development and implementation of cost reduction programs and achieve department and plant targets
  • Perform other duties as assigned
