Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as Automation Engineer with focus on Siemens PLC’s
  • Expert level knowledge of Siemens Step7, TIA Portal, Safety ES, WinCC flexible & Advanced
  • Proficiency in designing controls systems.
  • Strong MS Office, AutoCAD Mechanical & Electrical, E-Plan
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Has the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. overhead
  • Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform duties
  • Vision: 20/20 corrected and normal hearing range

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and debugging of automation equipment while applying knowledge of engineering technology as necessary.
  • Programs, troubleshoots, and evaluates any design considerations on new, existing systems and equipment which will include maintaining a backup library of PLC, instrumentation software and electrical documentation.
  • Designs & implements engineering solutions that meet the project requirements while monitoring budget constraints to maximize production equipment quality and efficiency.
  • Preparation of project scope, cost justification and AFE (overall cost proposal) to senior management for approval as required.
  • Applies mechanical theory, mechanical testing procedures and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production equipment.
  • Evaluates, selects, and coordinates with outside vendors for design, machining and fabrication of parts and systems.
  • Willingness to travel for projects on short notice including weekends – 70% Travel (typically 1-2weeks at a time)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
