About The Position

As an Automation Engineer Mechanic at Aptar you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation and performance of our palletizing, box handling and robotics extraction systems within the facility. You will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Requirements

  • Ability to work alone with minimal direct supervision.
  • Extensive knowledge of electronics, programmable logic controllers, pneumatics, and vision systems.
  • Proficiency in machining and fabrication, including MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to work from mechanical prints and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to collaborate with associates from all levels of the organization.
  • Must enroll in or have completed an associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Automation Technology, or related field.
  • Completion of fork truck training and the ability to operate fork trucks safely.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Basic computer operation skills with current software operating systems and programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on automated palletizing, box handling, and robotic extraction systems.
  • Perform daily systems checks to verify all quality checks are working properly.
  • Perform required housekeeping, keeping all storage areas organized.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve issues with palletizing and product handling systems.
  • Dismantle, inspect, and overhaul equipment as required by preventive maintenance program and production schedules.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions, implementing corrective actions and repairs.
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment configurations, and troubleshooting procedures accurately.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers and production teams to optimize product handling processes.
  • Participate in new equipment design.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and systems.
  • Train personnel on proper operation and maintenance procedures for equipment.
  • Continuously maintain and advance skill level by attending seminars and vendor training.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and technical support.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
