The Automation Engineer, DSM Upstream, will provide support to the Drug Substance Manufacturing (DSM) facility. This includes implementing changes to the Automation systems, updating design documents, executing tests, troubleshooting events, and providing automation on-call support. This role focuses on supporting the delivery of DeltaV logic for Upstream process areas, including Inoculum Lab, Media Preparation, Seed Culture, Large Scale Bioreactors, and Harvest.   • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field
  • 2 years of Automation, Instrumentation & Controls, or other relevant technical experience
  • Automation Engineer 3
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field
  • 5 years of Automation, Instrumentation & Controls, or other relevant technical experience
  • Automation Senior Engineer 1

Responsibilities

  • Perform Automation activities, such as code configuration, document development, and test execution
  • Delivers accurate and on-time Automation work
  • Creates standard code utilizing simple control strategies
  • Assists with developing (generating, reviewing, maintaining) various specification documents (e.g., user requirements specification (URS), functional specification (FS), design qualification (DQ), etc.)
  • Assists with developing (generating, reviewing, maintaining) various test protocols and functional testing documents (e.g., installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), etc.)
  • Assists with developing various test protocols and executes functional testing for documents (e.g.,
  • Serves as on-call support for Automation inquiries and troubleshooting
  • Collaborates with other departments, such as Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Validation
