About the position

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for production of construction documents from initial design to bidding under supervision of a senior engineer. The job responsibilities include developing electrical wiring diagrams, device layouts and panel layouts. As part of the design packet, the Engineer will compile the specifications as well. The Systems Controls Engineer will need to effectively communicate cross-functionally to gain support for projects and drive schedule compliance. They also will interface and collaborate with material-handling vendors, conveyor manufacturers, electrical control manufacturers and consultants to ensure compliance with UPS standards, and safety regulations. The final project should incorporate the latest engineering technologies to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective solutions in the material-handling industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical wiring diagrams, device layouts, and panel layouts.
  • Compile specifications as part of the design packet.
  • Communicate cross-functionally to gain support for projects.
  • Drive schedule compliance.
  • Interface and collaborate with material-handling vendors, conveyor manufacturers, electrical control manufacturers, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with UPS standards and safety regulations.
  • Incorporate the latest engineering technologies into projects.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Must have experience with designing solutions for process improvement.
  • Strong electrical aptitude to understand and troubleshoot control systems and equipment interfaces.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Proficient in advanced 2D drafting, utilizing AutoCAD Electrical.

Nice-to-haves

  • EPLAN Experience.
  • Experience in industrial automation.
  • Two years of experience evaluating bid proposals.
