Location: Grantsville, UT Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm How Will You Make an Impact? As an Automation Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our existing automation lines. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining high manufacturing performance, minimizing downtime, and supporting the long-term sustainability of our automation systems. By analyzing recurring issues, driving corrective actions, and implementing innovative design solutions, you will help our operations run at peak performance.

Requirements

  • BS degree in B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering is required
  • Minimum 2-5 years of working experiences in automation equipment design and installation is required
  • Strong understanding of automation systems including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial robots.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical/electrical design updates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex automation issues.
  • Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Able to work 1st Shift hours of: 7am MDT - 3:30 pm MDT

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ experience working in automation equipment design and installation
  • Experience with industrial control systems and programming (Allen-Bradley, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain and improve current automation lines to ensure consistent performance and minimal downtime.
  • Analyze equipment issues and implement long-term corrective design solutions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to diagnose problems and provide engineering support.
  • Drive root cause analysis for automation failures and develop preventive solutions.
  • Update or redesign mechanical, electrical, or software components of existing systems when needed.
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as schematics, design files, and operating procedures.
  • Ensure all automation systems comply with safety and industry standards.
  • Propose and implement minor upgrades or retrofits for improved efficiency or quality.
