The position will require experience with the latest versions of the Allen Bradley family of PLC’s, VFD’s and HMI’s/OIT’s to be used in conjunction with a strong understanding of electrical controls systems, mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, PC’s, Robotics, and Controls networks. Review key plant metrics/KPIs and equipment data to identify potential areas for continuous improvement then lead a team to develop an engineered solution. Provide electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls support to the maintenance department.

Requirements

Work requires the ability to read, write and communicate in English in order to understand and follow work and safety instructions.
Capable of moving up and down building stairways in a multi-level plant to reach job assignments and perform the tasks required.
Worker will be exposed to all hazards of machinery and equipment in an operational baking environment.
EE Degree, or equivalent.
Three, or more years’ experience in the Automation field.
A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
Equipment specific knowledge may be required based on location.
Strong experience with the following software packages: Rockwell Controls Software.
Microsoft Office.
Strong overall electrical knowledge and experience with electrical and industrial control systems.
Excellent communication skills and effective team building skills a must.

Nice To Haves

AutoCad (Preferred)
Experience in a food processing plant is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide automation controls support to a highly automated and fast paced baking, or distribution facility.
Review key plant metrics/KPIs and equipment data to identify potential areas for continuous improvement then lead a team to develop an engineered solution.
Provide electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls support to the maintenance department.
Provide leadership and, or training to one or two other automation technicians.
Promote a strong teamwork environment.
