Your Role The Cloud Development Platform team serves at the direction of the Sr. Director of Technical Engineering, enabling BSC’s journey to the cloud. The Automation and Tools Engineer, Experienced will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Engineering. In this role you will design, build, and maintain for our Internal Developer Platform (BlueStack) including flows and tools related to CI/CD, enabling operational excellence for Blue Shield of CA, our trading partners, and provider networks. Responsibilities Your Work In this role, you will: Deploy and support our provider agnostic Cloud Enablement Developer Platform (BlueStack), actively contributing to the achievement of our future state goals and ensuring current success and operational excellence Operate within a GitOps framework, collaborating with team members to accelerate capabilities and practices for the product, team, department, and our partners across the organization Document knowledge and intellectual capital related to automation frameworks and automated test solutions Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests to be used in middleware and GUI testing of applications/systems spanning multiple domains Define, track, and report key performance indicators, metrics, and trends related to automation development, usage, and contribution to software quality Troubleshoot complex problems with automation tools and automation framework setup/configuration Communicate with stakeholders regarding automation planning, design, meeting automation requirements, and automation development activities Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines that support multi-environment deployments Lead cross-functional efforts to integrate automated testing and security validation into release workflows Optimize build and deployment processes to reduce cycle time and improve system reliability Mentor junior engineers on CI/CD best practices and infrastructure-as-code principles Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to align automation strategies with business goals Qualifications Your Knowledge and Experience Typically, requires a college degree or equivalent experience Requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experience Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using BitBucket Pipelines Advanced proficiency in shell-scripting, Java, Python, and JavaScript for automation and integration tasks Experience with integrating CI/CD pipelines with REST API Proven ability to implement database versioning and migration strategies using Flyway DB Experienced operating GitOps principles and practices in enterprise-scale environments Desired Qualifications Hands-on experience deploying and managing containerized applications in Kubernetes across Azure and AWS environments using Argo CD Knowledge of security automation and compliance integration within CI/CD pipelines Experience with implementing and maintaining GitHub and GitHub Actions Exposure to monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog #LI -EB1
