We are looking for an experienced Automation and Robotics Service Engineer. In this role, you will provide support to our manufacturing organizations through the installation and start-up of new automated manufacturing cells and by providing troubleshooting and repair services to existing equipment to maximize the uptime of manufacturing assets throughout their lifecycle. This position is in East Aurora, NY and has a full-time on-site presence.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field (preferably electronic/control/software related).
  • 4+ years of automation experience supporting machining and production.
  • Demonstrated strength in electronics and controls.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot failure conditions utilizing control logic and electrical diagnostics.
  • Knowledge in all aspects of machine interaction with industrial automation including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and computer control systems.
  • A safety-focused mindset - knowledge, understanding, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, program, and repair Allen-Bradley control systems, Fanuc robots, GUI/HMI and other automation interfaces.
  • Effectively and safely troubleshoot and repair complex machinery in a team or single worker environment, including extremely precise alignments in multiple planes on advanced equipment in often awkward ergonomic positions.
  • Support Moog East Aurora production requirements: work to maintain and repair machinery in an effective and timely manner.
  • Implement and support long term initiatives including but not limited to predictive maintenance, safety programs, automation systems, and machinery installation planning.
  • Participate in project and new equipment evaluation and planning. Take lead as projects enter production operation.
  • Utilize the CMMS system (Maximo) to effectively document work logs, inventory usage, and hours worked.
  • Stay current on new machine technologies through OEM and other training as required.
  • Travel both domestically and internationally to support machine acquisitions and training.
  • Follow all applicable safety standards, including but not limited to Lock-Out Tag-Out, NFPA 70E, and Hazardous Material Handling.
