Requirements

  • High school diploma, or GED equivalent.
  • A graduate of a 2 year post-secondary program in Industrial Electricity, Controls, or Electronics, or, successful completion of a formal apprenticeship program, or, a minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience can be substituted for the post-secondary education.
  • Must be flexible within pattern of shift work to accommodate factory shut down, training courses etc., and emergency cover.
  • Must be able to travel for training.
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of control, information, and inspection systems.
  • Read and understand electrical related documents such as schematics, one-line diagrams, plan drawings, instrument installation and configuration details.
  • Install wiring, cabling, conduit and electrical equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and configure Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware.
  • Understand basic PLC ladder logic; be able to make simple relay logic PLC program changes.
  • Understand and apply National Electric Code (NEC) requirements.
  • Adhere to NFPA-70E Code and appropriate PPE requirements.
  • Have the ability to use electrical test equipment (i.e. oscilloscope, volt/Ohm meter, logic analyzer, meggers and current probes).
  • Install, maintain, and configure Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), DC drives, photo eyes and proximity switches.
  • Install, maintain, and configure pressure, temperature, flow, and weight instrumentation.
  • Perform calibrations on instrumentation
  • Execute all work activities and associated time duration through the computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of work order system
  • Support continuous improvement activities to improve equipment/operational reliability
  • Coach operators on theory of operations of equipment through the PM Pillar activities
  • Support/execute root cause analysis on failed equipmentInstall, maintain, and configure servo motors.
  • Perform more advanced PLC ladder logic programming such as PID loop control, add on instructions, and sequencers.
  • Ability to modify and maintain machine vision systems.
  • Tag Mapping into Azure
  • All other duties as assigned
