Responsible for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. Complete work that meets production and quality standards. Notify the Operations Supervisor of any occurrences that negatively impact production. This Team Member typically has acquired the general knowledge and skills of the Operator. Adhere to safety, health, and environmental guidelines.   Reporting Relationships: Job Reports To: Operations Supervisor Direct Reports: None   Addendum: Specifics for Area Worked Position Summary:   Set up, trouble shoot and operate the Automatic Punch Press in D465 or D858.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of high school highly preferred but not required.
  • Associate Level
  • Proficient with tools, programs and equipment needed to perform job duties.
  • Work assignments are fairly routine, and work is closely supervised.
  • Typically, 1 – 2 years of experience.
  • Core Level
  • Associate Skills plus:
  • Set-up machines and systems used to complete work.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Complete quality inspections
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Typically, 2 – 4 years of experience.
  • Senior Level
  • Associate & Core Skills plus:
  • Assist others when complex issues arise in area of expertise.
  • Able to program machines and equipment and has the skills to work in various areas of the manufacturing facility.
  • Works independently to complete assignments.
  • Might interface with Engineering and Quality Technicians to resolve issues or handle special projects/requests.
  • Note: Experience for each level will vary somewhat and depends on Apprenticeship requirements for the sub-categories requiring such training.
  • Safety first mind set.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Physical requirements to include but not limited to:
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs frequently.
  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Stoop, bend, and crouch or crawl.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in the assigned work area, which include machine and specialized equipment operations, mill operations, shipping and receiving, materials handling, warehouse and dock, quality, laser cutting, mold cleaning, high rise/turret truck and others.
  • Set Up, Operate or shut down equipment and run computer programs needed to complete and document work assignments.
  • Follow safety procedures and DRIV’s safety policy at all times. Notify the Operations Supervisor of unsafe or hazardous working conditions immediately.
  • Follow Quality Management System requirements as outlined for the job. Suggests ways for continual improvement for the work unit assigned and to ways to improve efficiencies between work units.
  • Perform visual, and functional inspection according to engineering drawings/specifications and general quality Inspection.
  • Certified or has the ability to be certified to complete 1st article checks.
  • Precisely follow written instructions as outlined on press cards, standard work, or work instructions.
  • 5S Housekeeping and work area cleaning tasks
  • Resolve minor issues that hinder or slow the progress in the work area.
  • Other tasks and assignments consistent with knowledge and training.
  • Set up the punch press based on the job to be performed including using a lift truck to replace tooling and using a hoist to load the material coil, then thread it properly into the machine.
  • Operate the punch press to manufacture parts based on the bill of material, keeping watch on the operation should the equipment need adjustment.
  • Inspect completed parts for damage or defects and package those that meet quality standards.
