About The Position

Automated UT Operator: Overtime authorized. Travel Per-Diem: 172.00 per day Fall 2026 Nuclear Outage Season Positions Available Must be available for training in June 2026. Specific position for Automated UT Operator: Automated UT Operator

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and part of a team.
  • Experience working in an automated/robotic 3D environment, such as AutoCad, VR, etc…is a plus.
  • UT Level II (UT IIL) Must meet the following criteria: Minimum 40 hours of UT discipline in Classroom & Lab Training Minimum 215 hours of OJT experience in UT discipline. Minimum 400 hours in any NDE discipline.
  • Mechanical aptitude and Electrical background required
  • Accuracy and thoroughness in work.
  • The ability to work in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and high temperature environments, required.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a clean background with no outstanding/pending legal charges.
  • Must have the ability to pass a drug and alcohol test at time of hire and random.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Non-US Citizen must hold current work visa or green card.
  • Must be willing to travel, 3-12 weeks per outage season, as well as travel to Houston, TX, San Jose, CA or Wilmington, NC for training, and or testing.
  • Candidate must be dependable and be able to report to work fit for duty, and on time while working 10-12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week.
  • Highly motivated to be successful and help the entire team when in high stress situations.
  • Be a self-starter and capable of working in a cohesive team to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Should maintain a questioning attitude and have a willingness to listen when given verbal directions/instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and take the initiative in new situations and environments.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in heightened environments on or off scaffolds.
  • Must be able to wear a harness.
  • Must be able to carry 50lbs.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, climb, and extend as required for the job.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in high heat environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Phased Array Training is a plus (80 HRS total = 40 HRS Classroom and 40 HRS Lab).
  • Held unescorted access in a domestic nuclear power plant in the last 365 days is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operators are responsible for building and reviewing setups, calibration sheets, and essential variables
  • Competent in mechanical and electrical problem-solving and ability troubleshoot causes of system failures and complete necessary repairs.
  • Must be competent in reading isometric drawings and navigating through the nuclear power plant to walk down components, as needed, using pictures, component labeling, and piping configurations.
