About The Position
Sanitary Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, is looking to hire a safety conscience Automated Side Load Driver, to join the team in Hermiston, Oregon. Drivers are trained to Operate Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks. Schedule will be Monday-Friday and Starting at 5:00am and ending when the route is complete, (Generally 9-11-hour days). Starting Wage is $30.50/HR. The route will be operating an Automatic Side Load Garbage Truck. You should also be highly organized with strong time-management and prioritization skills. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain professional and cooperative relationships with both customers and colleagues.
Requirements
- Waste experience preferred, but not required.
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement required.
- Ability to function in a wide variety of environments to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments (i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move/maneuver up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
- Read route tablet and service each customer identified on the route or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to remove refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
- Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties assigned.
