About The Position

Automated Production Systems Technician When your shift begins, you’ll huddle with the Operations Team Lead, review production goals, and bring multiple automated lines smoothly up to speed. You’ll scan dashboards, verify machine settings against specifications, and walk the floor to check 5S conditions. Throughout the run, you’ll balance quality, cost, and timing—anticipating issues before they cause stoppages and adjusting equipment to keep product flowing. What your day looks like Champion safety from the first minute—follow all plant safety policies, complete vehicle checks, wear PPE, and report incidents or near misses promptly. Keep the area spotless and organized through daily 5S and housekeeping practices. Verify quality at every step: adhere to the positive release program, inspect product, and use gauges/measuring tools to confirm results. When you spot defects, follow quality protocol, adjust machines, and document rework/waste; log data in the quality database and complete all required charts and production records. Monitor, maintain, and fine-tune equipment during continuous runs to avoid downtime and minimize scrap. Operate multiple production machines at once while ensuring overall equipment effectiveness meets established standards. Work around and operate highly automated and robotic systems. Support continuous improvement—recommend process changes, participate in CI teams, and help reduce operational costs. Contribute to robust documentation: help develop SOPs and work instructions; perform and accurately record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks. Pitch in for trial runs (SMA’s), equipment installs, overhauls, and upgrades. Provide break relief and operate a forklift as required. Carry out other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • 2+ years in high-volume manufacturing preferred.
  • Clear verbal and written communication; effective teamwork and organization.
  • Detail orientation and adaptability to changing initiatives.
  • Comfort with basic math/computers: read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions; report line performance.
  • Working knowledge of measuring devices.
  • Willingness to work 8- or 12-hour schedules across day or off-shifts, plus weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
