Your day as a Process & Automation Specialist As a new Process & Automation Specialist at Barrett Petfood, you can expect a dynamic work environment where every day presents an opportunity to innovate. Your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. You'll begin each shift by reviewing packaging goals and identifying areas where automation can enhance efficiency. Collaborating with a skilled team, you'll implement and monitor automated processes, troubleshooting any issues that arise in real-time. Daily tasks may include analyzing data to improve workflows, conducting routine maintenance on equipment, and participating in team meetings. Your role will also require engaging with cross-functional teams to gather insights and feedback, fostering a customer-centric approach while maintaining a strong focus on safety and integrity. Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day support and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment, solutions may require development of new or improved equipment, processes, or techniques.
  • Automation and robotic support for multiple packaging lines.
  • Works independently and with a team, conferring with supervisor on complex assignments.
  • Assists senior process engineering activities and projects in coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Identifies and investigates issues and provides solutions to management team.
  • Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment.
  • Executes and leads performance improvement activities through OEE.
  • Effectively manages small to mid-sized projects to ensure project completion is on-time, on-budget, and on-quality; coordinates project work with other operating units; regularly reports project status.
