About The Position

The Autoclave Field Service Technician at CBRE is responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and repair of autoclaves and other scientific equipment within critical client environments. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the proper functioning of sterilization equipment, contributing to the overall quality and safety of life sciences facilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience.
  • Appropriate license or certification where required by law.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Intermediate math skills for calculations such as percentages and fractions.

  • Experience in the life sciences industry.
  • Knowledge of sterilization processes and equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols in laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on sterilizers, large steam boilers, washers, and related equipment.
  • Disassemble, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, and maintain autoclave sterilizers and related equipment.
  • Operate test equipment including multimeters, frequency generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Coordinate the removal of equipment requiring extensive repairs during scheduled maintenance periods.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems during unscheduled work.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment.
  • Review and document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, and repairs.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Communicate with customer staff and outside contractors about calibration, repair, and operation of equipment.
  • Locate part sources, estimate costs, and prepare requisitions.
  • Track instrument and part reliability; make recommendations for service and parts.
  • Oversee the development of equipment maintenance and calibration procedures.
