About The Position

This position uses industry specific software to prepare detailed drawings that are used to manufacture high end furniture and custom millwork. The ideal candidate will take a job from its design phase to the production phase (CNC), and then follow it to its final assembly in house. This position is solely responsible for producing 3D models containing all necessary information based on the specifications provided by the Project Management Team. Detailed drawings include 2D/3D shop drawings, section details, CNC programming, floorplans, elevations, and revisions. All team members are responsible for the creation and maintenance of drawing sets within libraries that span across multiple brands and various levels of detail. You will work closely with your team members, supervisors, shop/mill personnel, and project managers daily to complete your tasks.

Requirements

  • Profeciency in AutoCAD is required
  • Using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software
  • Creating and revising production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)
  • Maintaining an organized file system for engineering drawings
  • Communicating with Project Managers regarding new and revised drawing sets
  • Producing and exporting production ready CNC programs using various 2D/3D design programs
  • Work efficiently within a small team in a Design Build environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and revise shop drawings from outside vendors.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematic equations; fraction to decimals, mm to inch, ect.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, verbal, or sketch form.
  • Experience in AutoCAD or related drafting or 3D software
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge or experience with CNC machines or CNC programming (all fields) is encouraged but not required
  • Prior knowledge or experience with carpentry or related fields is encouraged but not required
  • Experience in the following is preferred: Solid Works, Rhino3D, CNC Programming, Adobe Suite, 3D modeling (general), hands on design/build.
