The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of in-shop vehicle maintenance and repair services within a full-service automotive facility. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles, including but not limited to tire services, oil changes, battery replacement, and general mechanical repairs. This position requires hands-on experience with more advanced repairs such as engine and transmission work, with the ability to step in and contribute immediately. The technician will be expected to accurately diagnose issues, recommend appropriate repairs, and execute work efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing automotive components, including batteries of all sizes. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance services and ensure all work aligns with company policies and procedures. This role is based entirely in the shop environment (no field service required). In addition to mechanical duties, the technician may assist with light warehouse responsibilities such as handling inventory, receiving shipments, and properly managing used battery recycling in accordance with safety guidelines. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical knowledge, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement, while contributing to a productive and safe shop environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Technician in a full-service shop
  • Proven ability to perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire services, battery replacement) independently
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and begin work with minimal supervision (“hit the ground running”)

Nice To Haves

  • AA Degree in Automotive Technology or related field preferred; or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Relevant certifications (ASE or similar) are a plus
  • Experience with more complex repairs (engine and/or transmission work) strongly preferred
