About The Position

This job requires the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Operator must have the ability to use standard or metric units of measure and have the ability to join and reinforce seams to make a forming fabric for paper machines. Operator must also be able to see very small diameter materials.

Requirements

Ability to work off shift (11p-7a, or 3p-11p).
Ability to read a tape measure and measure dimensions of products.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
High school diploma or general degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Identify information on yellow card, read work instructions, follow priority log
Be able to identify correct fabric design
Operate machines according to customer specifications
Repair defects. Seam fabrics
Operate, set-up, service, and maintain assigned machinery and/or equipment.
Observe machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction.
Participate in process improvement, problem solving efforts and identifying the root cause of non-conformances.
To liaison with consultants on the development and refinement of the automatic seaming machine
Provide the maintenance and services for all automatic seaming machines
To ensure that Preventative Maintenance schedules are current and completed accordingly
