The Automotive Reconditioning/Transporter is responsible for cleaning and refurbishing both new and used automobiles to ensure they meet the dealership's standards for presentation and quality. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the appearance and functionality of vehicles, which includes washing the vehicle's exterior using appropriate cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes. The individual will also apply wax to the auto body, ensuring a protective layer is maintained to preserve the vehicle's shine. In addition to exterior cleaning, the position requires vacuuming the interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, as well as cleaning upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces with specialized cleaning agents and devices. The Automotive Reconditioning/Transporter will apply revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot and stain-resistant chemicals to protect the interior components. The role also includes cleaning engine compartments using steam cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents to eliminate grease and grime, as well as painting engine components and applying touch-up paint to chipped body surfaces. The individual will be responsible for checking in new vehicles with the transporter, coordinating the delivery of new and used vehicles for the sales department, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) is essential, and the employee must adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of provided safety equipment. The position requires maintaining high customer satisfaction index (CSI) scores and following dealership policies and procedures as set forth by management and manufacturer specifications.
