About The Position

The Auto Mechanic position at MPG Automotive Services involves performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of vehicles. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 12 months of experience in automotive service and repair.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test vehicles to keep equipment available for use.
• Complete preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, and tire rotations.
• Listen to operator complaints and conduct inspections to maintain vehicles' functional condition.
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
• Conduct test drives to verify vehicle serviceability and adjust controls as necessary.
• Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
• Record service and repairs to compile vehicle records.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and perform preventive maintenance to keep shop equipment operating.
• Manage costs by tracking warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
• Inventory stock, place orders, and verify receipts to keep supplies ready.
• Participate in educational opportunities and read technical publications to update job knowledge.
• Complete related results as needed to accomplish maintenance and organization mission.
