About The Position

Determines vehicle condition, performs inspections, and conducts diagnostic tests. Perform daily maintenance and preventive maintenance on all Ground Service and Fueling equipment. Location: General Mitchell International Airport - MKE Rate of Pay: $25.00 Schedule: flexible but must be available to work weekends Required : Must possess mechanical tools and toolbox ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Comply with the Location’s attendance/tardiness standards. Inspect, maintain, and modify ground equipment used in the support of Menzies Aviation operations. Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air. Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and modify ground equipment. Familiarization with the theory of operation for governor-controlled vehicles, control linkages and clutches. Diagnose problems using test equipment, and applicable manuals. Remove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and auditory sensors. Replace bearings, bushings, shafts, end plates, brushes, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hose, and wiring as required. Check and adjust tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches, and drive shafts. Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment. Conduct test drives. Maintain clean, legible vehicle records. Follow company safety policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or completion of an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic degree program: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FAA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations.
  • Must possess mechanical tools and toolbox
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisor, as well as other employees of the organization.

  • ASE Certifications a plus.
