About The Position

This position is for an intermediate-level auto technician who will perform light duty work and improve their skills in a supportive environment. The role involves gaining familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices, performing various maintenance duties such as oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, transmission flushes, spark plug replacements, and vehicle inspections. It also includes battery testing, maintenance, replacement, and testing/repairing starting and charging electrical systems. The tech will perform repairs on tires, conduct safety inspections, and work on interior/exterior components. Diagnosing and repairing brake systems, steering, and suspension systems, as well as performing AC system evacuation and recharge, are also part of the job. Maintenance on equipment and utilizing approved vendors for parts are required. The role may also involve upfitting new vehicles with necessary equipment and ensuring compliance with regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, especially regarding cars, and a team player ready to provide excellent work. Requirements

  • 1 or more years of related work experience.
  • The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • Clear a pre-employment drug test (Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited).

Responsibilities

  • Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
  • Perform auto maintenance tech duties, including oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush, spark plugs and vehicle inspection.
  • Perform battery testing, maintenance and replacement and testing and repairing of starting and charging electrical systems.
  • Perform various repairs including tires, safety inspections and interior/exterior components.
  • Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering and suspension systems.
  • Perform an evacuation and recharge on the AC system.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment.
  • Utilize approved vendors to obtain parts.
  • May up fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
  • Complies with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash.
